Pet of the Week

General
My name is General and I am a large, adult, male, Red
Bone Hound mix. I am a very handsome fella, my coat is red
in color and my features are very striking. I'm also very
intelligent just like most hounds. I would love to take long
walks or runs in the great outdoors, and I will need a
couple breaks just to smell the roses. I really love to play
with my toys, rawhides, rope toys, tennis balls, and squeaky
things, I enjoy them all! I have been neutered, vaccinated,
and micro-chipped. Won't you please come in and take me for
a walk and play with me? I'm sure you will want to take me
home!

Hangin' with Brandt

Happy Tails

My husband and I adopted Brandt, the albino Doberman a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to get back to you to update you.

He is doing wonderful. He was quite a handful Friday when we brought him home, but by Saturday he started to settle in and get comfortable with his new home. The next day, my friend Angie Falcsik (who is the owner/trainer for Pawsitive K9 Obedience, in Charlotte, MI) came to our house and did a one on one training day with Brandt, by the way we changed his name to Samson. He seems to like it :)

She not only trained him, but trained us as well! He is now behaving wondefully on a leash and has learned to sit, down, stay and is working on come. His eye sight does appear to be minimal at best in the bright day time and he squints a lot, therefore we got him some doggles, he's still getting used to those however. My friend Angie also does search and rescue with one of her dogs and teaches SAR as well. She helped me work with our prior Dobe to do basic tracking. She has advised us that Samson (f/k/a Brandt) has an exceptional ability to do tracking as well. His poor eye sight will not be a problem as they rely on their noses to track. I will be taking him to a beginners tracking/search and rescue class in the very near future.

We are extremely thankful to have found such a great addition to our family. Thank you again.
